How to install tiles for backsplash on top of countertop with backsplash on it.?

Hey there, just curious if anyone had any insight to this problem I have. I want to install some tiles above my countertop. The counter has its own backsplash already attached to it but I want to put some tiles on top of it. I understand how to install them but I need to know what to put in between the bottom of the tile and the arbrite backsplash and on the top, how do I finish it off?? Thanks so much, I'm so confused.

Install the tiles as close to the existing backsplash as you can, and then grout them as usual, but leave the line between the backsplash and the tiles ungrouted. Then when the grout is all dry and you've wiped it away and polished the tiles, apply a bead of clear or white silicone caulking between the tiles and the backsplash. This will waterproof that line and will also allow for some expansion and contraction, which always happens when different materials are next to each other.
