Extraction of ceramics is often a secondary task involving the use of some tools, along with physical force. Ceramic tiles in general, do not come easily and their removal process depends on the surface on which they are installed. For example, if set in mastic, ceramic tiles easily with the help of a floor scraper with a long handle. But, for removing asbestos-laden tiles ceramic putty, which require special equipment and respirators.

Certain things have to be taken into account when removing ceramic tiles. Area bricks and walls should not be disturbed while removing ceramic. Moreover, during the removal process, gloves and safety glasses should be used to protect your hands and eyes. If you work in a bathroom or shower area, it is preferable to cover the bath with an old blanket or piece of carpet to protect it from scratches. Electric hammers and chisels are trimming some of the common tools used to removing ceramic tiles.

The first step in removing ceramic tiles is to remove the seat covers the edges of the tiles. Then scrape out the grout on the perimeter of the tile. Caulking vertical corners must also be properly scraped. To remove these components, equipment, such as sharp knife, razor blade, and saw with wooden handle grout or plastic can be used. Once the tiles are free of grout and caulk, recording can be done in the tables to see if any of the pictures is loose.

If you are a loose tile, then the rest of the pictures should come off easily. To remove the tile first, gently apply a thin spatula on the edge of the tile. To facilitate the insertion of knife under the tile, a hammer can be employees to use the knife handle. When the knife or blade is halfway below the slab should be exercised gradually. Similarly, remove all the tiles ceramic. If done carefully and correctly, ceramic tile can be saved to some extent. But before using ceramic removed again, his back should be cleaned with an adhesive remover.

I'm installing tiles on a wood floor has exsisting linoleum?

My Question: Do I need to scrape the linoleum before I left the cement board or can I put the cement board (hardybacker) at the top of the linoleum?

Both the response one and two are good, though I prefer concrete Backer board. The problem with Hardi is the same that you have to skim something good. After installing several thousand square feet of tiles you never have a problem with the board of Backer (any brand). The issue however may be related more to raising the ground level by 1 / 2 plus 1 / 4 plus 1 / 4 in board / mortar / and tiles. I guess I will remove cove base moldings, make cuts for any door moldings for installation? Personally I'd probably remove the flax, but that's just me. Tile works well in leaves.
