subfloor for ceramic tile

Types of Underlayment
There are some basic things you need to consider when adding up the cost of tile installation. First, What type of basement do you have? The subsoil below the surface of what you are walking. Normally of concrete (known as a slab) or strips wood or wood above the ground (increase in the foundation). Both types require some very specific materials and techniques in order to get a job that both tile looks good and will rise in terms of use. We will cover the grounds raised in this article.
Raised Foundation Underground
The problem with installing tiles over wood is that wood is flexible and bends, tiles, no. If adequate soil preparation, tile or tiles ceramics, you loose as the floor and gives the temperature changes. To avoid this, we will have to install a solid surface on the subfloor. It is often a good idea to start with plywood, especially if the ground is uneven or cracked. Cut wood to fit around corners and underground parties and screw every six to eight inches.
Backer board
Over the top of the wood comes from the Board of sanding. Two brands are likely to see are Wonder and Hardy Backer Board. Backer board is screwed to the subfloor or plywood with special screws, so be sure to allow several boxes of these.
Use thinset mortar and Tile Spacers
To attach tiles to the Backer Board will be using thinset mortar. (Note: If you want a more flat strong, add a layer of thinset between the Board of Backer and plywood before screwing.) comes in white or gray powdered or premixed. Premixed is much more easier for small tile work, but it gets expensive if you're placing a lot of tile. Rubber spacers are used between the tables to maintain even grout lines.
Tile Grout
After the tile is down and cured, apply the tile grout ceramics. Tile grout resembles fine sand mixed with water and squeezed between the tiles. After all this has created and cured, you may want or need to seal tiles and / or ceramic tile grout. Some sealant comes in a spray can and apply to others with a rag.
Equipment needed for placement Paving
We're not done yet. There are several tools you will need to complete this work. If you do not own them, you will have to borrow money buy or rent to do the job. You will need a saw to cut wood, a screw gun or drill to attach the plywood and board and a score Backer tool for cutting board sanding. Notched trowel to spread thinset is used (the notches are square, triangular, not its size depends on the size of your tile is.) You will need to use a tile saw and tile should be cut around the cabinets, accessories and meets the walls. Renting a mountain is much better to buy now which are quite expensive. A flat round spacer remover tool list. The last two are fairly cheap, so buying them is not so bad.
Supply List Floor tile installation
This supply list may vary depending on the specific type of tile and grout to install, and the type of subsoil has:
- Ceramic Tiles
- Tile Saw (These can be purchased or rented)
- Plywood (to repair / replace damage subsoil)
