We bought this to accompany our new outdoor solar shower. Since we have a sizable investment in the pool area and we bought a nice shower we wanted a nice teak mat to go along and this fit the bill. Not much else to say, looks nice, plenty large.Big Red

Wonderful spa feel under my feet

I had previously bought a smaller version of this mat for showering and loved it so much I yearned for one that would cover my entire tub bottom. I have a standard sized 'plastic' shower/tub unit and there is too much give in its bottom to suit me (feels like it might crack), so I bought the smaller mat to give me a good solid place to stand while I shower. I've really enjoyed the slip free and luxurious feel of the teak and it dries beautifully.I only had two issues with the smaller mat. 1) I wanted to be able to move around more in the shower without stepping off the edge, and 2) I had to be careful not to use products like bath oil as they made the tub floor slippery, which could allow the small mat to slide.This mat covers the entire floor of my tub--in fact it's actually a little too wide so I had to sand down the long edges about 1/4" on each side. But having done that, it fits perfectly and I don't have to worry about slippage. I had to replace my drain cap with one that needs less clearance since although this mat sat above the original one (the mat has small rubber feet on the underside that elevate it a small amount) it pressed on the cap just enough to decrease tub drainage somewhat during my shower. With the new cap, that's not a problem.I love both the look and feel of this mat. It has a spa-like feel under my feet, is not slippery when wet and is very sturdy. It is well made, beautifully finished and doesn't mind repeated wetting. I'm moving my original mat to my deck door since the small rubber feet will keep it up off the deck flooring just enough for both to dry following rain storms. I highly recommend this mat.

Feels like home!

I bought this to put in the shower trailer I share with 140 other soldiers in Iraq. It is so nice to be able to take off my shower shoes ans step onto this floor mat and for a lenght of a shower I feel like I am back home. The mat does not hold odors and does not mold or mildew. It is a great addition to shower time!

Teak Floor Mat

I love this teak floor mat. I recently moved into a new condo and wanted to find an alternative to the traditional bath mat because my fiance and I find them to be disgusting (the dampness, the mold, etc). I did a little research and stumbled on to this floor mat. It's a little expensive, but worth it when you consider the generous size and low maintenence needs. Plus, it looks great. It adds a spa-like quality to the room. It's a solid, stable structure and very comfortable to step on. My only warning would be that it slated, so water falls through onto the floor beneath. Also, it came with an extraordinary amount of unnecessary packaging materials.

Solved a thousand dollar problem

I'm thrilled with this mat. It may be expensive, but considering what it saved me and the wonderful quality, I'm delighted. I have one of those plastic tub/shower units that has served me well, being easy to clean and still looking good after 25 years, but a few years ago, I heard a sudden pop under my feet while showering, and ever since then, the middle of the tub floor has been slightly 'springy'. I had someone look at it and was told the center tub support had cracked. I could get a new unit, have someone crawl under the house, remove the subflooring and reinforce the area from below, or--and I loved this--not stand in the middle of the tub when showering as eventually the bottom would crack requiring replacement. Horrors. So for three years, I've been straddling the center of tub floor. This is a giant pain, but the other options were really expensive and disruptive.When I discovered this lovely teak mat, I thought, why wouldn't that work to distribute my weight along the sides of the tub floor while providing me something sturdy and pleasant to stand on when showering? And it does. In spades. It is exactly the width to fit perfectly in the tub bottom. I can stand in the middle of the mat and move around without worry of compromising the tub structure. I wish it was also long enough to cover more of the tub floor, but it covers enough to be practical.The mat is not slippery when wet, feels luxurious and spa-like under my feet, dries beautifully and has improved the quality of my life. How great is that? The wood is strong and does not yield. There are eight small rubber 'feet' on the bottom so the wood slats are slightly raised off the floor surface thus providing better drainage and faster drying. I would recommend one of these mats for any plastic tub or shower unit (preferably before it cracks underneath like mine did) and for anyone who wants secure footing while showering. I'm tempted to get another as a welcome mat at my deck door since other mats tend to hold moisture after it rains, which damages the deck flooring. Well worth the cost and highly recommended.

This is a good item that sticks well to your bathtub, provided you follow the usual technique to stick it.We had only one applique leave since we installed them all. Nice looking mat. Probably should be treated to teak oil before use since it has a tendency to "bleed" when wet. Also the suction cups do not grip well at all on tile flooring.
