Removing Tile Flooring

tile flooring help??? removing cement?
we decided we waned tile in our home, the guy we hired was a friend of ours and supposedly was a "Professional". well his work was crap! the floor was uneven, the lines were crooked so we fired him because he still had to do the hallway and bathroom. anyways we didn't want to spend more money buying all the tile again and so we removed it all and tried to save as many as possible....now on the back of the tile there are some cement spots how do we remove that?we tried scraping it and didn't work out
You ll need to use a grinder of your choice to take off the heavy part of the thin set. You ll need to do this out side and preferable with a breeze blowing away from everything . This is a dusty mess but is easily done. Wear eye, ear( to actually keep dust out) and a dust mask.
Set the tile on a pc of carpet and attach the carpet to a pc of ply wood if possible , this helps keep the tile from sliding and moving all over while grinding the thin set down.
Wash or rinse off the dust so you can reset the tile. If dust is left on you will not get a proper bond when resetting the tile.

Benefits of Choosing Tile Flooring
There are many different types of tile flooring. This makes it easy to match your home décor and your own personal style. There are also many reasons to choose tile as your flooring materials and these benefits often make it a more feasible option.
Tile flooring is affordable and can be installed in any room of the home including entry ways and halls. Often times tile is closely associated with kitchens and bathrooms, but it can go anywhere.
You can choose different patterns for different rooms when having tile flooring installed. This means each room can have a separate theme or décor which will give each its own personality.
Finding someone to install tile flooring isn't difficult. No matter the size of your city and town, chances are there are contractors there who install all types of tile flooring. Hiring a professional is recommended to ensure the job id completed correctly.
Hiring a professional to install your tile flooring isn't as expensive as hiring someone to install other floor types. This is a distinct advantage because, depending on the job, your new flooring can be installed in a relatively short period of time. This also cuts down on the overall cost.
Tile flooring is a very practical choice. It's beautiful so is extremely aesthetically pleasing. It is also easy to keep clean and doesn't scratch or dent easily. Also, if a tile is cracked or broken, it can be easily replaced.
Tile flooring also doesn't have to be installed in every room. As stated above, it is often found in kitchens and bathrooms, but can be installed in any or all other rooms of the house. You can even choose it just for your entry ways and halls. This makes it a truly versatile flooring choice.
You can also have tile installed in rooms at different times. This can help if you are on a strict budget. For example, you may choose to have it installed in the rooms that are trafficked the most such as the living room and kitchen first, and later add it in the bathrooms and bedrooms.
Tile comes in many different shapes, patterns and colors. This enables you to personalize your home décor. Also, many types of tile remain popular and in style for many years, thus making them easy to come by and unlikely to be unavailable when you need them.
Tile flooring is also quite versatile. You can use rugs to cover certain portions should you choose or remove them for a more open look. Throw rugs also work well in the winter months when the tile can be quite cold to the touch.
Whether you want small or large tiles, you will have no problem finding just the right ones to match with any décor. Tile flooring makes a room feel and appear more open and can serve to brighten up a room. In addition to being easy to keep clean, it is inexpensive to maintain. It makes a beautiful choice for the entire home and is also quite durable. Installation is also quick, easy and affordable. Add to that the ease with which you can find a remodeler to take on the job and you have an option that will really pay off in the future.
