remodeling a bathroom
I am remodeling a bathroom. How can old white cabinets after painting?
I have cabinets of sand that were stained dark brown and varnished in preparation for his painting. Planned to paint them white but Lile to make them look more interesting by adding some with antique enamel or stain. Does anyone know how to do this? Or where can I find information on how to do this? Appreciate the ideas!
You can buy clear glaze or gel stain or make your own enamel in any color you want, but burnt umber and sienna are commonly used in false finishes old. I make my own glazes transperancy control, open working time and color depth. I mix one part water, part of painting or acyrlic latex and some of Floetrol. Floetrol gives more open time to the work of enamel in which you want old by enlargement drying time. Obviously, the Floetrol vintages, and light, working time before it dries. You can get in the hallway Floetrol paint stores home improvement. You can apply the glaze using various techniques depending on the results you want. Usually prefer to use a small brush chip mounting areas and then wipe over it with a cloth soft, lint-free. Usually where I want to apply polish accent moldings raised or recessed. Sometimes even apply across a piece of tone down a base color and reapply in the areas of architectural interest. I always label my pieces with a non-yellowing polyurethane to protect the work and make it easier to clean.
