Just about every bathroom in the country will have some kind of Bathroom tiles, whether wall tiles, floor tiles or both; people are recognising the benefits of decorating their bathrooms with tile and acting accordingly.

Bathrooms can be decorated to varying degrees with tiles, however, the most common applications are around the wet areas. That is around sinks, baths and showers. There is a very good reason for these areas to be tiled. Tiles (with a few exceptions) are impermeable. That is they are not porous and do not let water in. This means that they are very waterproof and are fantastic for protecting walls and floors from the potential hazard of water damage. Something which can destroy even the most water tight of paint jobs.

Tiles have a reputation of being something of a luxury which can dissuade people from investigating them further. True, tiles can be an expensive commodity however, those of you on lower budgets will be pleasantly surprised at the selection on offer at the lower end of the budget scale. These tiles offer all the benefits of their premium counterparts, however they may not have been designed by the designer of the month.

Many tile outlets have mountains of discount bathroom tiles which they are eager to let go for discount prices. These tiles could be discounted for any number of reasons, they could be an old style which has been superseded by the latest design or they could just be the last in a run of tiles. These discounts usually kick in way before there are too few tiles to decorate a room so it always pays to keep your eyes out for any bargains that may be out there.

Keeping bathroom tiles looking their best takes just a miniscule amount of work to avoid any build up of mould that is often a factor in the wet rooms of your house. Special care however should be taken inbetween the tiles and in the grouted areas as this are the areas more susceptible to the build up of mould.
