Im re doing my bathroom .I have stumbled across this and think its fab but Im worried it might be tacky .I will use the gold mosaic in the shower and the rest white tiles .Do you like it ??

You can incorporate both by buying some sheets of the "gold". It s actually a 1x1 glass iridescent tile and a bit pricey.A few sheets of the tile can be cut down to make stripes or a design and help keep the cost down. A s/f section of this type tile will start out at 15/20$ a s/f but if cut down you can get up to 48l/f of stripe if you do a single row. Do-It-Yourself guidelines for Mosaic Tiles installation

Mosaic tiles use patchwork to create an artistic design. Different colors and shapes are combined to represent an abstract art. It could be a simple pattern from children coloring book or a complicated design depicting a story. These artistic tiles give you an opportunity to express your feelings or interests in a unique manner.

Installation of the mosaic tiles requires great concentration and appropriate strategy so that the tiles don't crack after sometime. These instructions would be helpful in carrying out the task.

1. Take a black marker and draw the layout on the tile surface. Draw a rough sketch and don't focus on minute patterns. These designs would be realized, once you start the installation process.
2. Now, segregate the colored tiles into different piles. Don't forget to prepare a rough pattern on the dry surface. This ensures that the color combinations gel with each other.
3. The next step involves cutting of the tiles to the required size. Cut the mosaic tiles with help of a tile cutter. Remember, that you need to keep a gap of 1/5 inch between the tiles to fill the grout.
4. After cutting the tiles, paste the tiles on the surface one by one. Make sure that you paste the tiles with good quality glue. Never add excess glue as it might take hours to dry up.
5. Once you paste the tiles, allow it to stick for 24 hours. Avoid using the area for 24 hours. This time is essential to build the cohesive force between the mosaic tiles. After 24 hours, reposition the tiles with inadequate quantity of glue between the tiles.
6. Now, grout the gap between the tiles. Consult a professional while selecting the grout. You can use a uniform color or look for colored grout to bring a difference to your mosaic designs.
