Handy Flat Five Design Tips
Here are some tips to really beautify a room floors:
Tip # 1: If you are putting tile and want to make the room look bigger, use larger frame sizes (18 x 18 or larger) and placed at an angle of 45 degrees (diamond). What it does is draw the eye to the two widest points of each tile, giving your flooring the illusion of larger space. And the larger frame sizes are less grout lines to see what your soil is not as "busy" in its larger area as saying about 12 x 12 I would.
Just consider the installation tile by 45 tile uses more because there are more cuts to make.
Tip # 2: If you want a clean and contemporary, ask your installer to use the narrower grout lines as possible, either 1 / 8 or 3 / 16 and natural stone 1 / 16. Expanding grout lines to give a more rustic, rustic look. And higher gloss (polished) tiles are contemporary while heavily ribbed and give an approximate age, worn appearance.
Tip # 3: To give your floor another trick illusory Lighter colors give the room more spacious feel darker colors, while giving it a more cozy feel smaller.
