Over time, marble floors probably start to crack due to weathering. You should know that marble is very porous and very susceptible to a variety of factors external, such as stains, pressure and heat. These factors contribute to the overall life expectancy of your tiles. Signs of cracks indicate that you need to repair it soon as possible to minimize damage.

On the sub-soil

The sub-soil is the foundation of all marble tile installed. In the beginning, this area must be perfectly smooth and clean, so that the bottom of all categories of direct contact with the ground support. Leaving air spaces between the tile and the subsoil are very sensitive to pressure. The cracks appear as a result of great weight and weathering.

When the marble tile floor begins to crack, need to resurface the sub-soil. Over time the placement of the grout may have become unstable. Things you need for rejuvenation are a chisel, a brush sweeping, tar paper, marble tile and grout replacement.

First, remove the cracked tiles as well as all adjacent squares around. Even the sub-soil, which is likely to have solidified the grout and other hardened materials such as cement tile installation. Scrape these off using the chisel and then the entire surface is smooth and even, sweeping all the dirt particles with the brush. You can also use a vacuum cleaner to clear completely dirt.

Take the tar paper then cut to fit the sub floor completely. It covers the entire area to establish a smoother surface to place tiles. You may want to position boxes first before grouting to ensure that fall into place.

Repair cracks

Some methods allow you to hide the cracks in tiles marble floor without having to do a lot of work removing the broken for replacement. Epoxy glue is useful in strengthening the cracks that have begun to form. Be sure to aim right between the cracks. For pieces that have chipped or broken completely, use acetone to clean the edges of all parts including most of the tiles. Use epoxy glue or cement to repair the piece marble to put back. Apply pressure to ensure that the piece is set and wait several seconds until to dry the glue.

Sealers Marble and other agents to conceal as powders are useful to hide the cracks in marble. You simply apply epoxy glue into the cracks, apply the agent to hide on the top so that the colors are mixed with the marble. Remember to follow the grain of marble when the occultation.
