Should I be sealing the floor when installing tile in a kitchen or bathroom?

I am installing hardibacker and porcelain tile over a particle board subfloor in my bathroom and kitchen. Should I be using some type of sealant over either the particle board or backer board? If so, what should I be using?

No sealant is necessary over the OSB. Apply some thinset, and screw the hardibacker down. Get some mesh tape and apply to the seams, then cover the tape with a thin coat of thinset. You are then ready for tile. Good luck.
