As a seal tile backsplash in the kitchen?
I have a tile backsplash ceramic cemented me last week, and a granite countertop. I seal the grout. I bought a bottle spray it. But it is obvious that only drips to the counter. The tiles are 2 "x 4" and the grout lines very thin. When I use the word they used a bottle with a roller and went over each of the grout lines. This is impossible, because the lines are so thin and they are vertical. Am I suppose to put in a sponge and keep it on the backsplash? It also puts all the tile, when sprayed on. Is this correct? Is it bad for granite? Thanks, Kate
Grout sealer will not harm the ceramic or granite. Spraying the sealer, but you're losing and do not work as effectively as it should. Use a brush smooth, narrow brush and "paint" the sealer on the grout lines. The brush will help push the sealant into the pores of the nozzle, which is where you want whatever. Mist spray sealant on only the immediate surface of the nozzle and does nothing to help it penetrate the surface. If you are addicted to the use of your sprayer however, do this: spray a few pumps of sealant on the grout line to get the sealer into position and then immediately come back it with the brush to push it into the grout. It's called "back-brush" or "back-roaming and each professional is the way the product works which is the application in the pores of any rough surface that you just spray the product on. Do-it-yourself, but do it like a pro.
