Roughness of the slab
Roughness is what determines how the tile is slip proof. Slip-proof tile is treated with a material abrasive so that its surface is rough and safer to walk.

Hardness Rating
The harder the tile, the more durable it is and the more traffic it can take. The Institute has a porcelain enamel hardness following scores:
