Kitchen tiles are not only used for floors, but also used on walls, as a backsplash or on countertops using specialty tiles with unique designs. Kitchen tile is another kitchen décor because kitchen tile comes in all colors, sizes and materials it is possible to mix several colors to produce a certain design element, such as creating a stone or a marble look.

There are three types of kitchen tiles to choose from. The ceramic kitchen tiles are made from clay as well as talc, and other minerals, and after forming, the tiles are put through a firing process under high temperatures. Porcelain kitchen tile is very durable and is resistant to scratches or chips because it is made from the same material top and bottom. Glass kitchen tiles were used in borders or in the creation of beautiful mosaics in countless colors and has the unique ability to reflect light.

If you're tiling your countertops and have chosen the tile to use, let us assume that the backer board is ready for the mixed mortar. The mortar has prepackaged instruction on its mixtures. Once done mixing use the trowel to spread the mortar on top of the backer board. Make sure you only spread enough to complete that section. Now you ready to lay your tiles. Use tile spacers between each tile to get a nice even look. It will take around 48 hours to dry.

The next step is spread some grout on top of the tile using the float to press the grout between the tiles. Use a damp sponge to help smooth the grout for a nice clean look.
