Installing self-adhesive vinyl tiles?

First off, let me say that I know that there are better (more expensive) options soil and installing new underlayment is always recommended. However, I want to avoid laying new plywood, so I have to remove a layer of vinyl tiles and the original vinyl sheet to expose the subfloor Luan. It seems to be in good shape and has a minimum of waste. What would you recommend I get this base to help the adhesion of the tile?

I would say to their layer sub-soil layer with latex fortified thinset. If you are unfamiliar with thinset, mortar is used to set ceramic, porcelain and natural stone. It's easy enough thin, start at one corner and have a flat trowel and hold it at an angle of 45 degrees and you drag the thinset with a movement from side to side, the work itself back to a door or other entry.
