I owned a Hoover Floormate many years ago; but when I moved it did not come with me. Loved it and missed it. I believed that it was no longer being made. In checking google, lo and behold found it alive and well. ordered one asap and love it love it love it.

Great cleaner!

I love the smell of this product and the way it - and my FloorMate - clean my floors! About once a month I use the Floor Mate with little or no solution to remove any residue build-up, but WITH the cleaner my floors always look great and even my dingy grout is getting cleaner after every wash! It doesn't remove set-in bad stains in the grout but it has lightened them...my grout is badly stained and I'm told probably nothing will clean it completely (this works better than even soft scrub and murriatic acid have worked in the past).

Last year I obsessed about cleaning my tile. It turned out that it wasn't the tile that was dirty, it was the grout!After researching everything I could get my hands on, questioning all my friends and neighbors, I tried everything that was recommended. Most took lots of scrubbing or they just didn't work. I wanted something that worked, didn't stink, and didn't leave dangerous chemicals that might harm my pet.This one does take a little scrubbing, but works really well. I haven't found anything I like better.

Nothing in a Bottle

Used as directed with FloorMate. Also used directly on grout with a brush. Used it full strength, used it diluted. Even let it stay on grout for about 15 minutes. No one of those methods did anything!! Save your money. You'll get as good results using almost anything else. Perhaps most disappointing product I've used in 10 years.

Hoover FloorMate Grout Cleaner, it works!!!

I purchased this grout cleaner after trying several products to get crayon out of the grout on my kitchen floor (my 2 year old decided to color the floor when I wasn't looking) and of course, I had to get on my hands and knees with a brush, but with warm water and this product the crayon came out! I was disappointed when Wal-Mart decided not to carry this product anymore. I have been looking around for it but haven't found it at all, the price I originally purchased it for around $4.89. It's a great product and well worth the price, when you consider it restores your grout to looking like "new" again.

I was surprised.....it is NOT the same brush in the photo, not at all. The one I recieved was long as a broom, wooden like a broom, and the end had like a "figure 8" looking attachment made of hard wire and brush, one end for skinny grout lines and one end for fatter grout lines. Definitely NOT a black plastic handle brush like shown, not even the same kind of brush/bristles. Well.......it was odd to see this completely different looking thing than I ordered, HOW EVER honestly I think I like this better than if it did look like the photo, because this one is so long you dont have to move or bend down to use it and its tough and has 2 different sizes. Only gets 3 stars because its not the same item in photos (and for some people...that would not be a happy time) and honestly it works great but looks cheaply made so the price is a bit steep but hey, again....it works. And it works good. Thats all you need, right? Id still recommend it.

Disappointing product

My husband recently bought this item as a replacement for our older Koblenz scrubber which was no longer working properly. I'm sorry to say this brand new scrubber didn't work any better than the broken one.It seemed that Koblenz made several design changes to this scrubber, none of them good ones. I noticed right away that the cord was shorter, and the tank did not seem to fit into the scrubber as well as it used to. Additionally, this is advertised as a "Commercial" scrubber, but when I looked more closely, I saw that it actually said COMMERCIAL (in large letters) Technology for Home Use (in small letters beneath). Elsewhere on the scrubber, I saw that it said "for home use only." So this is NOT a commercial scrubber. This was worrisome, since we were buying the scrubber to use in our business, where I scrub the floors twice a week. So I was worried it would not hold up to the use it was going to get.The first time I used the scrubber, I noticed that it leaked if I left it standing (off, of course) even for a few minutes. I tend to scrub a section of the floor, then turn the scrubber off and lean it against a wall while I mop over the freshly scrubbed area. Every time I did this, I came back to a large puddle under the scrubber. I tried to adjust the mechanism that releases the liquid, in order to stop the leaking, but to no avail. The next day, one of our employees used the scrubber and had the same experience.The scrubber is now packed up and ready to return. We were happy with our previous Koblenz scrubber, but the newer model seems cheaply made and of poor quality. We were very disappointed.

No elbow grease necessary!

My home is exclusively vinyl plank - looks just like wood/laminate, but is "soft" like vinyl. I've always vacuumed and mopped, but have been unhappy with a splotchy look for the past year. I got on my hands and knees with a scrub brush, but even a half-hour of scrubbing in my kitchen didn't make much of a difference. When I thought about how much time and energy the whole house would take, I gave up. Then I searched for a floor scrubber and found the Koblenz. After just 5 minutes' use in my kitchen, the floor was clean and the standing water was black. I knew the vinyl was probably dirty, I just didn't know it was THAT dirty. As other reviews mentioned, the standing water is an issue, but it would be an issue if I were on my hands and knees, too. Currently my strategy is to floor squeegee the dirty water into a pool, then I towel it up from one area. I'm not sure if this method is best, I may try a "mop it up" approach.In any case, the Koblenz got the job done! The machine is weighty and I was concerned about how much effort it would take for me to scrub. Once turned on, however, the machine floats across the floor on its own, I could literally guide it around with the touch of a finger. Maybe someday there will be a perfect machine that sucks up the dirty water, but then we'd have to deal with dual tanks. In the meanwhile, I am very satisfied.

Waxes real hardwood floors very well

We have been using this machine for two years and it does an excellent job. It did loose a screw out of the handle from vibration, however. It took a special trip to the hardware store with the remaining special post type screw to get a new one that approximates the lost item. Check the handle tightness from time to time. We are happy with the device and would buy it again. The best part is that my wife can handle this size and weight buffer. The big ones defeated her.

Does the job

I bought this to clean my tile floors. It does the job well, and the machine is heavy duty, no plastic parts to worry about breaking. You do have to keep up with cleaning up the dirty water as you go, I use another floor cleaner I have that sucks up the water to do this. If the floor has not been cleaned in a while you do have to go over it several times to get it clean. I have a lot of tile, probably around 2,000 square feet of it, and it does take hours to cover it all. If I had the choice, I would buy a commercial grade machine that will also suck up the dirty water, however they start around $700.
