Floor

Kennel floors can be bacteria resistant & skid proof.

The trend towards upscale kennels is making flooring paramount for good looks and healthful environments. Kennel epoxy flooring is not only seamless but can be Class III Laboratory qualified. Now used not only in veterinary operating rooms but also on kennel runways, divider walls and cages these mold and mildew resistant surfaces are easy to clean with hoses and squeegees. Bleach resistant epoxy flooring can take strong cleaners and heavy abrasion.

Epoxy coatings have been used successfully in swimming pools, laundries, warehouses, garages, and various types of shops for decades. Now they are being used increasingly in kennels with fine skid resistant textured surfaces that are still easy to mop and squeegee clean.

Kennel epoxy floors can be flooded, pressure washed and scrubbed back into service in minutes. Mold, bacteria, and contaminants can be rinsed off. The surfaces are impervious to penetration by liquid-born contaminants. Even diesel, gas, and oil will not penetrate them and can be washed or wiped up. Old technology floorings, including paint, carpeting, vinyl tile, linoleum, and wood, are subject to such severe contamination and damage if flood cleansing is used.

New designs in kennels offer beautiful flood-proof epoxy coated flooring from wall to wall, often including coated vertical surfaces to help further contain liquids. The beauty of kennel epoxy flooring can be enhanced and personalized by using colors. Colored chips, glitter, decorative stains, and artwork and decals can be laminated into these attractive floors. Kennel epoxy flooring is a solid choice when building or remodeling kennel spaces.

Great!

by Kara Welch from DALLAS, TX, US on 2010-08-15
This was the greatest baby purchase we've made. We have all hardwood floors in our house and these mats have made a wonderful play area for our 10-month old.

Better for the long run

by Belinda from on 2010-06-30
I searched online for awhile before I decided which play mats to get my twin 6 mos. olds. I picked these because I fiqured in the long run I could use them anywhere and I have heard the smaller ones don't last as long. They are very durable and the colors are attractive to the girls. The only problem I have is that they come in a set of 8 which makes you buy another set if you want to make a perfect square (you need 9). I took other reviews advice and bought them at Sam's club for $21.80 per pack!

funky smell

by mom from usa on 2010-05-15
I don't have any issues with mat other than strong funky smell. I tried to air it for a week, wash with soap and with boiling water. Nothing helped. I am sure smell is not toxic, only somehow whole room started smell like that and I don't like it. I guess it problem with every mat but I still very upset. As far as size goes - one mat contain 8 squires (2 red, 2 yellow, 2 blue, 2 green). So, as appears from one customer image, 4 sets were put together

*~*~*~BEST FOAM MATS FOR BABIES/TODDLERS~EASY TO CLEAN~BETTER THAN KNEE PADS~MULTIPLE USES~DURABLE~*~*~*

by Mommy of Cuties M & Z from USA on 2010-03-27
We bought several packs of these when my girls were old enought to start having tummy time. These are cheaper at Sams Club, thats where we got ours. The color tile part is textured, non-slip and easy to clean. I use Clorox Spray anywhere, just spray it on 1 foam tile at a time and wipe dry with a paper towel. It doesn't absorb moisture which is great. The color side is not as soft as the solid black side but my girls have fallen and banged their heads on it many times when they were first learning to crawl and they never had any problems. If you think its too hard for your baby you can either use the black side or use a blanket. My parents bought some of the foam tiles that have the removable letters in them several years ago, these are WAY better. The letters DO get lost and also wear out easily, plus it is a huge pain in the butt to have to put all the letters back in when you need to have the solid tiles. The tiles have lots of wear as well. My best friend has some solid square tiles similar to mine but they feel cheaper and have several gouges in them(bought same time as we bought these), plus the tiles don't seem to fit perfectly together. My tiles connect together perfectly, there are no gaps what so ever!! My best friend & parents both like our mats better and wish they had these instead...these would make a great baby shower gift, especially if someone has bare floors. We've got laminate flooring in our livingroom and put together 6 pieces to place our girls Jumperoos on. Not only do these protect the floors, they keep my girls from sliding all over(they go crazy in those things) and it also keeps their feet warmer from the bare floor. We've had their jumperoos on these foam mats for well over a year and they don't have indentations or any wear what so ever! We've used these while doing home improvement projects to protect our knees/backs, they work great, especially if you double them black side up...MUCH better than knee pads!!We just recently put a piece of exercise equipment in the living room(one of those crazy Gazelle things you see Tony Little doing on infomercials) I got it from my parents and figured I might actually work out if I can watch TV as I do it so we put 4 of these mats down and voila! I am now exercising daily while watching TV!! My husband had to dissasemble the machine a few days ago and there were no signs of wear or indentations.Anytime we have something that might damage the floor we get out these mats and they do a perfect job. They are so convenient, you can either move them as 1 big piece since they are lightweight and stay together well or you can break them down into individual squares easily...although they stay together well, if you want them to come apart, they do so easily too. What a nice investment, you can use these for your baby and then have them for many other uses for years and years.Oh yea, forgot to mention that the dog & cat like these as well. Both of them have their own beds & both of them are allowed on all of our furniture but they end up laying on these mats all the time. It's funny when our English Bulldog(who we'll just say he likes to eat) he will try to fit himself on a little edge that is sticking out from their jumperoos with most of his body hanging off ; )The list of uses for these mats are endless...These are SO durable. If I were to throw a Twinkie, my Gazelle & these mats in the trash and they went to a landfill, I think in 100 Million years you would find a cockroach working out on the Gazelle that is sitting on these mats. I know what you're thinking "why is the cockroach working out?" Because he ate the Twinkie, of course ; )

Good to use in place of carpet

by W. Peoples from Ewa Beach, HI on 2010-02-09
I bought about 200sq ft of these tiles. I rent my house, so putting carpet in was something that I couldn't do. My whole house is tile, so this was a good solution. My 9month old sits, stands and falls down on these all day long and doesn't get hurt. The price of these online is expensive. I bought these for $20 a pk at a K-Mart. (I live in HI so everything costs more)

Eureka 313A Enviro Hard-Surface Floor Steamer

by Sylvia Smith from on 2010-09-06
I was expecting it to steam more than it does. I don't feel like it is cleaning as well as I expected because there is very little steam coming up from the sides of the machine.

It's so depressing

by Shane D Wickham from on 2010-09-05
I just used this the other day and you would not believe how much dirt and grime it pulled off my floor. And I thought that mopping with Ajax and a toothbrush was the way to go. Not anymore! This little baby does get hot and puts out plenty of steam. If I could improve one thing it would be to add a longer cord. But that's it. The head has a nice pivot ability that allows you to get this little guy in some tighter spaces for a super clean. Not only that, but it's "green" for all you hippies out there. Yeah, yeah...I know...I have one too. Pick this up and you won't be disappointed. Your dirt will be, but your floors will thank you. I may even try to do my laundry with it.

OMG This is an amazing product!!!

by DK from on 2010-09-04
if you are in a market for steam mob look no further. This is one to buy. I had "S" brand (Big fish) before and oh boy it was a joke compare to this Eureka Enviro Mob. Very silent operation unlike "S" brand one that blows steam like dragon (my kids loved it though). Very hot temperature to sanitize (very amazing) and remove old stains on wood floor (works really well). I think any towel of same size of shipped towel should fit (less cost).Overall i give two thumbs up...

Hot steam...but is it clean?

by H. Valencia from on 2010-09-03
After reading the reviews and having a friend who purchased this steam mop I was so excited to replace my Shark!! I used it the first day and two to three times a week since then. I love how hot it gets and that you don't have to pump it to get it to steam while you mop. It's a little hard for me to know how clean the floor gets, though. I know the steam is super hot so it's sanitizing...but as far as really getting the dirt off the floor...I don't know. I have 2 kids and 2 dogs so my floors get pretty dirty pretty quickly. The pads say not to wash them with detergent, just rinse and air dry. This makes it hard to get the dirt out and then know exactly what you're taking up the next time. To pass a "white glove test" afterward, I think you'd have to go pretty slowly, changing the pad frequently and flipping them over. Although it only comes with two pads, I think you could easily clamp a white kitchen towel on there if need be. One more tiny bummer is that you can't monitor how much water is in there until the empty indicator comes on. A small issue, but I thought it worth mentioning. Overall, as far as a steam mop goes, I love the ease of use, the retractable handle for storage, and the super hot steam.

Love It!

by LAD46 from on 2010-09-02
Love this floor steamer! After doing a lot of online research on a half dozen steam mops I decided to go with the Eureka 313A and I'm so happy I did. We had laminate flooring but into our new home three years ago and up until now, have never had a clean looking floor. The Eureka 313A is easy to handle, the water tank holds a generous amount eliminating the need to refill it every couple of minutes, the power cord is of sufficient length, the cleaning pads are easy to attach, and there are a lot of steam ports resulting in a larger cleaning surface. Best of all, the floor is clean and streak free! Wish I had found this floor steamer three years ago.

Sunlight lamp-great!

by Cherie A. Walenda from North Country, NH on 2010-08-30
I bought this lamp in early March, 2009 because I have Seasonal Affective Disorder. I need to be under the 6500Kelvin watt light for at least an hour and a half a day during the long winters we have up north. I found this lamp to be exceptional! It really pulled me through the rest of 2009 and 2010 winter seasons. I also use it daily because it is bright enough to read under in the darkened areas of our home. It is great for doing close-up work because of its luminesce. I have had no problem with the lamp itself and have never replaced a part or bulb as of yet. I simply love it and am getting one for my husband!

An ugly duckling, but very functional

by Revcat from Southern California on 2010-08-26
We have had 2 of these lamps for quite some time. One is by my bed which enables me to read in bed, one of my favorite things! The other is in the family room.Apparently I spend a lot of time reading in bed because my bulb just burnt out which is the only reason I am on this site. I am ordering replacement bulbs, one for now and one to spare. We haven't had any problems whatsoever with the lamps, they work very well and serve the purpose. I did not rate them on their attractiveness, just function so in this case I guess it's function over form.

Great product

by Frank Chun Yat Li from Toronto, Canada on 2010-08-22
Pros: - Very bright - very inexpensive - flexibleCons: - difficult to put together, it comes in 4 parts and you have to screw each of them into their neighboring parts. The direction of the screw is not designed well so when you try to screw in the middle parts to one end, you might be unscrewing the middle to the other end.I personally aim the light upwards towards the ceiling. This way when I sit down I don't need to stare at the bright light, and when I stand up I am not tall enough to be able to look into the light.

Great lamp

by M. Bergeron from Colchester, VT United States on 2010-08-13
I've had mine for five or six years with no problems at all (original bulb). Heavy, stable base, clean light that's perfect for reading or intricate work, adjustable head for getting that 'ideal' lighting angle. Sure, it's fairly cheap looking, but from a utilitarian standpoint it scores on all counts. Highly recommended.******** UPDATE. Three hours after writing this review, the lamp died. ********

Sunlight Floor Lamp

by Nancy Littlepag from NEW ALBANY, IN, US on 2010-06-27
This lamp was a gift for my 85 year old father. It is weighted at the base so not easily turned over. He can adjust it over his lap and read in a comfortable position in his chair, reducing strain on his arms, back and neck. The brighter light improves his ease of reading making it more enjoyable. I can see myself wanting one too very soon.

Awesome Product

by eco-conscious from on 2010-09-01
This system is fantastic!!! I have never found a cleaner that did not leave a film or residue on my dark hardwood floors. They are brand new and show every piece of lint. The cleaner is very effective and has no smell or irritants at all. The mop is super easy to use. You just spray the cleaner and wipe with the mop. It literally takes seconds to clean my floors and they look amazing. I LOVE that this product is so effective and it is environmentally friendly. I am a huge fan!

Returned system

by Mary Mills from Washington on 2010-08-29
I purchased this system because the product looked like a higher quality than other lightweight floor cleaning products. After reviewing, it said it would not leave a film, etc. After I opened the box, the prep work, vacuuming, dust mopping, etc., seemed a bit in excess, but I did it anyway. What I found was this.1. This system does not pick up dirt. if there is any dust, etc., it just pushes it along and you have to go back with a rag and pick it up. Also, the floor was just as dirty as it was when i started.2. It leaves a dull residue and it is not attractive. I have laminant floors, used the laminant cleaner and was not happy.I am returning the item and sticking to my Hoover floor mate.Thank you for reading.

I love it!

by Sadie from Houston, TX on 2010-08-09
I just tried this for the first time today. I absolutely love the duster. I have 2 cats and a dog and I was planing on buying a 200$ roomba to help clean up all the hair. Well after I tried this I realized that I can put that 200$ in my savings account. It only takes me 2 minutes to pick up all the hair from my living room, kitchen, and hall way with the duster. When I am done then I take the duster outside and shake all the hair out and it forms a giant monster hair cloud. I can't believe how much stuff this duster picks up. The duster is machine washable for those of you who fear hair clouds. I love the way it just glides across the floor. I liked the cleaner too. It is easy to use and really brought out the beauty of my floors. The microfiber cloth doesn't leave any streaks like the one on my shark steam mop. This duster is much more effective and much cheaper than spending tons of money on Swiffer refill pads. Money well spent!

by M. Mualy from FL, USA on 2010-07-20
it does clean my wooden floor, but it takes time, the mats are not that big and the duster it does not hold on much of the dirt.the spray is the best part of this system.

Nice Product

This product was as described. Packaged well, easy to assemble. Holds my mountain and road bike perfectly in my apartment.

Excellent Value

by Ron from on 2010-08-21
After reading about some of the quality control issues (parts not threaded properly, bolts, nuts and screws scattered all over the box) I was a little hesitant about making this purchase. I did buy it and I'm glad I did. All the parts came wrapped in plastic and the fasteners were in their own sealed bag. Installation took about 15 minutes. All the parts fit well and it lies flat on the ground. I store two adult hybrid bikes. Because the handlebars are about the same height I had to place the rear wheel of one of the bikes in the stand - but they are still side by side (I don't have the space to store them end to end. All in all, I'm very pleased with the product.

Light and Practical

by B. Salimi from on 2010-08-15
We needed a little more room and a better organized garage, so we ordered this bike stand, It was easy to assemble, and our two bicycles fit in it perfectly. The quality was also very good. We strongly recommend this stand.

Is what it is

by Gdollar from on 2010-07-28
Works as advertised. Takes a little patience to put together. But once it is it works as advertised. And the price reflects that. I would expect more if it cost more so it is what it is.

Solid bike stand for 2 bicycles

by Watches from USA on 2010-07-26
When initially received, there was a hole drilled incorrectly. In the box is a letter from Racor asking to contact them if there are problems before returning the item. Racor sent me a new stand quickly free of charge because a whole new stand wold arrive faster than a single part. The stand is not heavy, but weighs enough that it keeps two bikes sturdy. It holds the front and rear tires well. I think it is a bit too narrow to put both bikes in handlebar first as the inside grips hit, twisting the wheel a bit. One of the bikes has fairly large disk brakes and they come very close to rubbing on the bar support as does the rear sprockets when parked rear tire first, but they don't seem to get damaged. All in all it is a great stand for the money.

Does what is promised.

by Happiness is reading from Yardley, Pennsylvania on 2010-07-16
I ordered this on a recommendation of a hardwood floor installer. I had a new hardwood floor installed in my new kitchen in my 60 year old mid-century cape. The floors in the rest of the house were original and needed a cleaning - no a refinishing.Upon arrival of this product and its subsequent use, I was thrilled. It did exactly what it was supposed to do.Great product.

Give hardwood floors a Bona

by Sara L. Wilburn from Seattle, WA USA on 2010-03-04
I absolutely love, love, love this stuff. I have a bamboo floor in 2/3 of my house and this makes it so easy to keep it clean and shiny. I use a terrycloth mop with it and it cleans up everything, including toddler-deposited caramel and chocolate. The 32 oz bottle goes a really long way, too. I have completely cleaned my floor twice with this one bottle, and am just now buying more. I probably have enough for one more cleaning (700 square feet total!), but I don't want to run out. This stuff is amazing!

No Fuss! Cleans Floors Beautifully Without Leaving Smells or Residue.

by Bold Consumer from USA on 2010-01-21
This is a "No-Fuss" product. Use it and get on with your life. It just works.I want the floors clean without having to be aware of the product that made them clean. It was recommended by the owner of the hardwood floor company that installed my hardwood floors and I've been using it ever since. I have allergies and a sensitive nose and I've noticed it doesn't have a strong odor. In fact, I don't know that I've ever been aware of any odor at all. That's important to me because I want a product to do its work and get out of my way.I am rough on my floors since I have had 2 dogs and some dog-related challenges. I kept the Bona handy to use for 'emergencies' between floor cleaning by my housekeeper. It seems to keep the floors in good shape. I plan to continue using it.

Very average----minimal improvement, if that

by SCSILR from New York on 2009-08-20
Save your money....or get something else. This product, the spray bottle, at least, makes little if any, and only the most minimal, improvement. Not worth the money. The spray trigger, is useless as very little product comes out--or perhaps the trigger on the bottle I have is broken. I had to open the product and pour it out to use it. In any case, I do not recommend this product. I see the most basic, mimimal improvement in the luster of my wood flooring. What a waste. I just hate being ripped off. Don't let it happen to you.

Glass Plus Works Better

by Cabushka from Western PA on 2009-06-28
My flooring installer recommended Glass Plus without ammonia to clean my polyurethane finished wooden floors. It works great without streaking, but has been hard to find. Most glass cleaners contain ammonia, which will darken the finish of wood floors. So I tried Bona X. It is much more expensive and leaves streaks unless dry mopped immediately after applying.

Excellent Cleaner

I've tried using other cleaners in my floormates (spin scrub and regular), but this really is the best I've used--great cleaning, fresh scent.

Best puppy pad ever

by Seventytwocarats from on 2010-09-06
Really like these puppy pads. They are large and trap fluid in so there is no mess! Can't beat the price!

Does not stand up to normal use.

by Crazynana from on 2010-09-05
My 8 lb MinPin easily soaks this pad clear through with the first use. I will never purchase this product again.

small size

These pads work, but note that they are small sized... I prefer larger pads.

Smaller Than Standard Size Pads

by Sheryl Cutler from Charleston, SC United States on 2010-09-04
In terms of absorbency, these pads work for my 6 pound Maltese as well as my regular pads did but at a fraction of the price (and storage space); however, I would caution potential buyers to take careful note of the dimensions of these pads as they are noticeably smaller (in one dimension) than standard pads. For this reason, they are probably not appropriate for medium to large size dogs. I doubt they would give larger dogs sufficient space even to navigate w/o missing the pad entirely.Advantages:Cost a fraction of the price of my prior pads Require a fraction of the storage space (for box of 100) vs other pads Size and absorbency is adequate for 'toy' size dogs (under 10 lbs)Disadvantages:Smaller than standard size pads Does not fit standard size pad tray Probably not adequate in size or absorbency for large dogsBottom Line:Although these pads are sufficient in size and absorbency for my 6lb Maltese, I will probably not continue to use them beyond my initial purchase because they don't fit my standard size pad trays. I've found that the GridLock pads are almost identical to these except that they (GridLock) fit the standard size pad trays and only cost a few dollars more for the box of 100. I will probably use GridLock in the future. However, if you are looking for bottom dollar pads for a 'toy' size dog and if you don't plan to use standard size pad trays, the Iris pads may work fine for you.

Works great. Doesn't leak!

by Jane Ho from on 2010-08-28
I have several cats. One was very sick and some were having a territorial war. These pads saved my floors and cushions. The big size work well at draping over things or under the litter box. Easy to use and they get thrown away. They are great. Very leakproof so the floor stays dry. I've used others that leave the floor damp. Great find.

Works as advertised

by Andrew Foss from Chicago, IL USA on 2010-08-23
Works very well. I just applied to an old hardwood floor - the finish was looking pretty worn. This product brought new life to it. I put a second coat on several hours after the first, which further improved it and made the sheen deeper and more consistent.

Beautiful job

After cleaning the floors with the Bona Floor Cleaner, I used the refresher. Great job and I am very pleased with the results. Will continue to use this product.

Shocked that this worked SO well

by Mandie from Washington, DC on 2010-05-14
My wooden floor was a mess and really needs to be refinished. However, i didn't have the time or money for that and had family coming to visit. This really made a big difference, the floor looked a lot better with a few coats of this. How I prepared the floor: (I didn't follow directions and get all the extra tools this suggested) First I swept, then I vacuumed. After that I used the Bona floor cleaner and a swiffer wet jet mop (I didn't use the swiffer spray, I just squirted the bona cleaner and used the mop head). I made sure any stuff on the floor was picked up by sweeping again. Finally, I shook this bottle up, and squirted it on the floor, one patch at a time. I spread it around with a regular sponge mop covered in an old tee-shirt. this seemed to work just fine. Careful not to walk on the floor before it's dry - you'll end up with foot prints. But, I turned a fan on & it was dry in about 15 min.Very happy and will use again.

Bona for hardwood floors

by Susan K. Hanson from Fall River Mills CA on 2009-07-06
I have maple floors that really look beautiful with the Bona products - only thing I will use. And, I've been using these products for almost 10 years now - Amazon was the easiest place to find what I needed at the price I was willing to pay.

Good product, but read directions carefully

by Poindexter from Portland, OR on 2009-06-26
Since you are actually putting a coat of water based polyurethane on your floor, extra care in preparing the floor is required IMO. After dust mopping I got down on my hands and knees and used about 10 rags to carefully clean the floor using the Bona floor cleaner. The amount of dirt transferred to the rags on the supposedly clean floor was amazing. The floor scrubbing mop provided by Bona I did not use, since I could not apply enough elbow grease - however I will use it now for maintenace cleaning.Make sure you use the floor "refresher", not the floor "polish" product. The floor Polish product is acrylic and you cannot later top it with urethane. The floor "refresher" can be recoated repeatedly with polyurethane, and I like the idea of just putting another thin coat of polyurethane on the polyurethane floors ("maintenance" coat as Bona calls it). Bona says you can put the refresher on 3-4 times a year for maintenance. If your floors have been waxed, forget using this product since it apparently will not adhere properly (again, read the directions.) NEVER wax your hardwood floors or apply acrylic products, IMO.The Bona website has some instructional videos and FAQ's which I found informative. My only disappointment was this (not an issue with the product): We have 100 year old quartersawn white oak floors. The grain is beautiful but the surface is not "smooth" - this is inherent in this super-premium type of wood. I found the refresher product put a great shine on some fir thresholds, but the oak floor was only shiny in a subtle way - I would have liked more shine, but that is a personal preference.

It does clean floors nice,

by C. French from on 2010-08-24
Yes the floors are cleaner without chemicals and very easy to use. It would be nice if the mop swiveled to reach into tight areas better. And the extension cord needs to be longer.

Jury Still Out but So Far So Good

by Statchmo from Lone Star State of Mind on 2010-08-01
I just got this yesterday and have already used it quite a bit. I do like it.Pros: --really light and easy to maneuver (under 5 pounds filled with water) --tank comes off to fill so you don't have to take the entire machine to the sink --heats up really fast (they are not kidding when they say 30 seconds, it is that fast) --steam gets really hot (REALLY hot. REALLY. Be careful) --pads are easy to put on and stay on --pads are big and very 'scrubby' and they seem to wash well --full tank of water does last about 20 minutes --it's very quiet --doesn't leave too much moisture on floor, so floor dries quicklyCons: --cord is too short, so you have to unplug and re-plug often --you have to change the pad every TEN minutes even though a tank of steam lasts TWENTY. Since the steam is so hot, this can be a little dangerous in the middle of a cleaning job! This is not just about the pad getting dirty, but it gets saturated with moisture from the steam and this is why you get streaks if you don't put on a fresh pad about every 10 minutes --because of having to change the pad every 10 minutes (see above) you probably need to buy extra pads. Mine came with two but I am glad I went ahead and bought 2 more. Maybe my floors are just really dirty (ok, they ARE really dirty, that's why I needed the Haan!) but I probably could have gone through all 4 pads and still not finished all my tiled areas. On the upside, the pads weren't too expensive (at Sears where I got mine, about $12-ish for a pack of 2). --head swivels, but not very much, and because it's kind of big, it doesn't fit in tight spots like around a toilet. It does have a nice low profile that fits under cabinets however.I have a Hoover Floormate but that darn machine is so loud I hate to use it. Both the kids and the dogs howl when I drag that thing out. Not to mention the dirty water chamber I have to clean when I'm done. And the fact that my floors don't look that good, and are super wet when I'm finished. The Haan is a big improvement and so far I am very pleased with my purchase.

Glad I bought this

by J. Smith from on 2010-07-29
WOW! It works. Most of our house has ceramic tile floors. We love the floors but in some places the dirt buildup would get bad. I would use Savogran 10621 Trisodium Phosphate (TSP) with rubber gloves, two buckets, mop, and scrub brush. That was lots of work and still I could rub up black on a clean white towel. Eventually I discovered boiling water and used the wet-vac to get the dirty water up, then mop with a clean mop. Lots of work, so seldom done. The Haan SI-35 makes me feel happy. I had to take time in those really heavily used dirty areas. Three tries in one spot. Dirty Grout took another two tries. Now - it is a pleasure to just spend about 10 minutes a day to touch up where touch up is needed with my SI-35. EASY. It seems that less dirt gets left behind when walking through now.I like the 350 ML (12 ounces) "water bottle" on the SI-35. The instructions says it will last about 20 minutes and that seems about right. It is easy to fill; I keep it right on the kitchen sink counter. The UltraMicrofiber pads wash up easy and I plan to get 8 more of the HAAN Microfiber Pads - 4 PACK (RMF-4) so that I have a good reason to use the washing machine for them. Each pad lasts about 10 minutes before I have to change it.My SI-35 hangs in a convenient kitchen place so a messy floor can become very clean in just a few minutes. Ooops!! Something squashed, dried, and stuck to the floor? A little steam and it comes right up.An pleasant surprise has been using it on my counter tops in the kitchen. Sticky or greasy places clean up fast - no soap needed.

Very impressed!

by NBC from Iowa on 2010-07-14
After a lot of research, I went with this model, because I wanted something more durable and with hotter steam than the shark, but had read reviews that other steam mops may not fit underneath some cabinets (which would have been really irritating). Trust me, I went back and forth between this model and the FS-20 (yellow model) with the short handle attachment for at least a week.Well, I've now used this steam mop for 2 weeks, and I am impressed! Here are the pros in no particular order: 1. A tank of distilled water lasts over 20 minutes. The removable tank makes it easy to pour any unused water back into the distilled water jug, too (since it is not recommended to store water in your steam mop). 2. I was able to clean my extremely filthy vinyl entryway, my (small) kitchen and two (small) bathrooms in 23 minutes, and that was when I went slowly and lightly scrubbed some ground-in dirt. Will this work miracles for dirt that's been ground in since 1993? No, but it does way better than anything else I've tried (including Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and good old acetone-- both of which took the finish off the floor, too). Because of my small rooms, I cannot comment on the cord length, although it's not a huge deal to unplug it, move it, and plug it in again, because it's pretty lightweight. 3. Hairspray residue in the bathroom was completely gone within 2 cleanings (nothing but hand scrubbing had ever completely cleaned that before--the Wet Jet left it dull and a little sticky) All of the floors were left completely shiny and so clean that they were actually a little slick (I feel like doing a Risky Business scene here). 4. The mop was extremely easy to assemble and use. 5. You do not have to wait for the machine to cool down to refill the tank. Simply unplug, remove the water tank, refill, plug back in, and in less than a minute, you're ready to go. 6. It truly fits underneath just about everything (a few inches, anyway). 7. As with the other Haan steam mop, no pumping or trigger work is necessary (the steam is always on). 8. The pads are very thick and absorbent, much more so than most microfiber towels. Since pad quality appears to be an issue with some other steam mop brands, I thought I'd mention it. They hold up well in the washing machine, too, and air-dry flat. They also adhere well without any clips, so you can use your foot to remove them when they're dirty. Now for the cons :(1. There is no short handle attachment for this, so to clean the countertops or use the gliding attachment to sanitize furniture, you'd have to wield the entire mop around. I was excited when I thought that perhaps I could just attach the black handle directly to the base without the middle portion of the handle attached (why, oh why, Haan, did you not design your attachment points just a little bit differently??), but alas, it isn't possible, just in case you were wondering. You'll see what I'm talking about here, if you get one of these. Luckily, I also have the handheld Haan steamer for those jobs. 2. It only swivels forward and backward, not side-to-side. That feature would be very nice for getting into tighter, more awkward spaces. I cope with this problem by locking the mop into its upright position, grabbing the lowest portion of the handle, and moving the mop side to side across those areas (not necessarily a pretty sight). 3. The cleaning pad/head is very wide (nearly 7") from front to back, which I suppose is nice for a bigger cleaning surface area, but it's not going to be able to get behind your toilet unless you have a freakishly large space behind your toilet. Not necessarily a pro or a con:1. I'm just throwing this out there so that people know. There is a pump that gets the water from the tank into the steam area. The other Haan (FS-20) uses a simple boiler system. The good news is that the steam comes out of the steam mop quite vigorously this way. However, if you wanted something absolutely silent, this isn't it, although it is VERY quiet (oddly enough, one of my cats runs over to watch whenever he hears the steam mop pump). Also, I hope it's a really durable pump. I don't want it to wear out in a short period of time, because I REALLY like this steam mop.Anyway, that's all I can think of right now, but I'll update this as more things become apparent, especially regarding the durability of this machine.

Love it!

by M. Bills from Ventura, Ca. on 2010-07-10
I borrowed my sisters Haan and thought it was great, but went to the local BB&B and they didn't carry it so got the Shark. Returned the shark, not because it didn't work but because it had a bazillion pieces. It has 3 sizes of heads and 4 different mop covers that you have to put on and off. The Haan has one head size and comes with 2 microfiber pads that stick to the bottom. So easy and quick. It cleans good and when you're finished you just pull off the pad and throw it into the washer. Simple, fast and effective.
