In industry wood flooring, old growth term remains subject to interpretation and controversy. Hardwood Floors in doing our business to know more about wood than any other company, and to educate our customers so they can make more informed purchasing decisions. Frequently asked questions about the direction of growth old trees, especially in relation to the reclaimed wood. For a white pine of this is between 130-150 years, while many of the trees reach maturity at age 80. But most important is that maturity and, subsequently, growth old trees continue to contribute to the ecosystem in which they live.

Virgin growth refers to dense stands of various species of hardwood or pine trees that are indigenous their habitat; never been harvested. Many of the virgin forests are protected, but, tragically, there are many who are still being cut today for purposes that are mass-produced wood flooring. In essence, the virgin wood is old growth that has never been cut, while the growth of age may or unless virgin wood.

Reclaimed wood is also known as old wood, and for us the terms are interchangeable, describing the wood used in our plants. We agree that the old-growth land is beautiful, however, we prefer to reuse this majestic wood that was cut for building structures that have shaped our history in the United States and interesting places around the world.

"Deconstruction" is the heart of the industry reclaimed wood. The emphasis is on using materials that have outlived their usefulness and would otherwise be demolished, removed or decaying. Deconstruction helps close the circle of the resources that we now realize is so valuable in this world of finite resources.In recycling this precious material is an important positive environmental impact.

Deconstruction differs from that of "demolition" that is a laborious process involving the dismantling of selective building components. We work with experts to carefully manage the decommissioning of projects to preserve the large dimensions of the beams, posts and floor beams, this will be reflected on your floor as you work to keep the upper width and length of these ancient woods.

Demolition, on the other hand, is unfortunately the most common method to demolish a building. Implosion or demolition demolition ball style "is relatively cheap and provides a method faster to clean the sites for new structures.
