Bathroom Renovation - ripping out?
Hello, My boyfreind has had to go over seas to work for a year or two, and he ran out of time to the bathroom. The floor is rooting and needs to be replaced. We have a new shower and could buy another bathroom too. The room is dragging a bit, but lots of anything important. To help keep the cost because I wanted to try to get something from the outside of the list so that someone knows what their doing to just being able to go in and do it. can anyone suggest websites or tips on how to do it. As there is a way you should shoot to the baths, or get pictures off the wall, basic things like I want. Thanks With lots Tedruski and Moe A love to give best answer to both.
The bathrooms are a rather important. Believe me, I'm in my third bathroom now and have a year to do everything. Luckily for me, I'm borrowing the boys bathroom. There is no easy way to get the wall tiles, must break with them, easier to do when you rip both tiles and plaster by hand. Finding a non-place of studs, make sure you are sufficiently high to be reached no cables or pipes with a hammer blow to make a hole, put your hand in there and draw pictures and drywall once, much easier than trying to do one by one. For floor tiles, you have to pull them off using the lever. one by one. Once done, you can take off the ground using the hammer and lever and discard it. A very tedious and hard work. If the toilet flange is in the upper subsoil will have to chip wood around with a chisel and a hammer to get rid of all the wood under the clamp. Do not break the flange. Check your main floor to make sure it is not rotten. If yes, then you need to cut out rotted sections using a circular saw to fine tune the depth of the main floor. Remember, as the wood joice should sit on all the drywall and cut the ground should begin in the middle of a Joice / Stud and end in Joice / Stud. (typically are 16 "apart center). Thus, the new plates have something to screw around the edges. If they do, your floor will flex, cracking his new tile and grout. Make sure its low joice not rotted. If so, you must have a professional come and fix that for you as this poses a real structural problem. As for the installation pipes, drains are their primary concern. You should be able to unscrew and lift the toilet easily once you disconnect the supply lines. The Same goes for the sink. As for the bathtub drain, that should come easy once you unscrew the drain plug from the bath (there is a special tool to it) and the overflow plate screws. Once off the tub, you can pick it up and discard it. If you plan to use it again, then you better make sure that cover with a blanket before breaking the wall surrounding tiles because the tiles that fall into the tub of chips. If the water supply lines have to be moved or relocated, you will need to cut a copper cutter (saw less preferred) and plug them using solder copper caps until they determine how you want the design fashion. Be prepared for a lot of trash, if you could make a ramp for the window directly to the outside, it would help a lot instead of taking endless buckets of tiles and drywall out. Sounds like a lot of work? you bet, you are ready for cuts and scrapes. If you can afford to hire someone who I do, the better. Regards. Moe.
