Ceramic tiles are very popular today because they are very easy to maintain, very profitable in a long time and they look great. However, they are also more Although expensive to install, most people tend to look to the lifetime savings they will have when its use. So what exactly is the history of ceramics?

The tiles are wonderful and have a very long history as far back as ancient Egypt, about 6000 years ago in 4000 BC. It is said that the tables are the simplest, the oldest art form of ceramics and tiles throughout history were made by many cultures, including Babylonian, Islamic Empire and Assyrians. In early paintings can be seen in Tunisia, in Kashan, Iran and Middle Eastern mosques display varied many scripts of the Quran using tiles colorful relief throughout the 12th century.

In the 13th and 14th centuries, many of the churches of Europe were paved with mosaic decorations and the Netherlands, even became an important center for trade in the tiles of the 17th and 18th centuries. In the 19th century - Britain itself became added even more prestige for their methods mass production of tiles. However, the first paintings in western Europe is found in various places around England in the late 10th century. Tiles were considered only for the rich and wealthy, many churches and monasteries sponsored with these wonderful creations.

Early 16th century Moorish methods mosaic found its way through Spain and a wonderful example of beauty of their crafts can be found in the Alhambra Palace in Granada and the Great Mosque Granada. The Dutch method was extended to tin tiles making English.

The Dutch became famous for his paintings in 1544 when the first Potter was created in Delft. This picturesque Dutch town made famous in less than fifty years for its fine craftsmanship and his pictures were much in demand. However, successful wine competition and the Dutch were unable to resist longer. Many potters went bankrupt. Delft style tile is considered a long tradition of manufacturing European style with Maiollican of Italy and Spain. The processes for ceramics used a process based on the effects produced tin-glazed so distinctive held in high regard.

The tiles were Maiollican varied and colorful as his nickname ( "paviamenti") suggests, that were widely used for flooring. Delft tiles fell away from the use of many colors and instead turned away from the influence of China combinations of blue and white prevail today.

English tile-making experienced a huge boom in the mass production of tiles and this was much accelrated by the rise of the Revolution Industrial. He collapsed at the turn of the century and the mantle of mass production was taken by the Americans. The Americans however, had to compete with English imports and therefore has never lost its competitive edge. Ceramic tiles - a true craft that has stood the test of time.
